What's it all about?
-
The Internet is a great place to explore information and ideas from all over the world. As you start to explore the Internet on your own, remember
that the Mission Viejo Library has no control over the information you
might find. Just because it is on the Internet does not mean it's
true or valuable.
What do you need to know?
-
If you are
a child, your parents must give their permission for you to use the Internet when
you apply for your library card.
-
You may sign up to use the Internet for one hour at a time.
-
You are responsible for the sites that you visit. Be aware that others may see what you are viewing.
-
There is no e-mail or interactive chat allowed on the computers in the Children's area.
-
Use the computer equipment with care. If you are having a problem, ask
the library staff for help.
Safety Tips for Children
-
Do not give out personal information such as your full name, address, telephone
number, parent's work address or telephone number, or the name and location
of your school without your parent's permission.
-
Never arrange a face-to-face or telephone meeting with another Internet
user, regardless of how "nice" or "friendly" the user may seem.
-
Tell your parents or the library staff right away if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable.
