Silent Auction

The Friends have a monthly silent auction that begins at the first of the month and ends at 3:00 p.m. on the last Saturday of the month. There are usually around 30 auction lots which are of a similar theme, like art, literature, history, etc.

The items are on display in the bookstore cases and window during the month.  The bidders book is located on the cashier's desk in the bookstore.

All proceeds from the auction are used to support the Mission Viejo Library.

Silent Auction Rules

There are no reserves on any auction lots.

The high bid is NOT lowered to one increment above the under bidder.

The auction will close at exactly 3:00 p.m. on the last Saturdayof the month.

A live bid off will be performed to determine the high bidder when more than one of the earlier bidders are present at the 3:00 p.m. closing.

High bidders will be notified by phone within three (3) days after closure.

Payment for auction lots will be after the auction is completed.

Successful bidder must pick up auction lots within seven (7) days from notification or the items may be offered to the second highest bidder.

Any auction lot may be returned if the bidder is not satisfied.  Results of the previous month's auction will be available at the cashier's desk.

Automatically keep abreast of the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library monthly silent auction by subscribing to the library's e-mail newsletter.
