Local History at your Fingertips

Mission Viejo, California, is the first successful master planned community in the United States. This site will provide you with an look into the creation of Mission Viejo from it's earliest days to the incorporation of the City of Mission Viejo.  With over 250 scanned items, you will be able to read early Mission Viejo Company documents, see early Mission Viejo events and meet our early residents to see how they lived.

Click here to browse or search the entire local history digital collection.

With special thanks to the California State Library who provided LSTA grant money to allow the scanning of the photographs and documents.

Also, thanks to Judy Deeter, Robert D. Breton, Micky Schulte and all the members of the City of Mission Viejo Heritage Committee for their input and cooperation.
