Study Room Use and Rules of Conduct

Study Room Use

The Library has 4 study rooms available at no charge. Patrons and groups are limited to a total of two hours per day of study room use.

Study Rooms E and F are open to individuals and small groups. Patrons who wish to use these rooms must first reserve them at the reference desk.

Study rooms B and C are open to groups of 2 or more. Each group member over 18 must have a Mission Viejo library card and all those under 18 without library cards should have a student/other form of ID. Patrons may sign up to use these rooms at the reference desk. For advanced reservations, rooms B and C are also available for rent for $5.00 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours.

Effective June 30, 2003, patrons may sign up for a Study Room on a same-day basis only. Advance reservations are not available unless patrons are renting a room. Patrons can sign up for study rooms at the reference desk.

Study Room users are requested to abide by the following guidelines:

  • Please be on time. If you have reserved a Study Room time and are more than 15 minutes late, or leave the room for more than 15 minutes, your time may be given to someone else. Please do not leave valuables unattended in the Study Rooms.

  • The Study Rooms are intended for quiet individual or group study. Talking is allowed; however, excessive noise and/or disruptive behavior will result in the suspension of Study Room privileges for one month.

  • Study Rooms B, C, E, and F will seat up to six people. For safety reasons, overcrowding of the Study Rooms is not allowed.

Conference Rooms and Reservations

Groups of 1-12 may rent the conference room. There is a 2 hour minimum use fee; reservations may be made at the Reference Desk.
